It begins...

Blowing the dust off...

So where to start...well firstly, the proper polished portfolio (#whodoesntlovealliterations?!) is still in the works and this website is something of a begrudging admission...that I needed to sort out a few things in the collection of work I have accumulated to this point; mostly how it is I want to communicate what it is I do/have done/will bring to an organization. Definitely not the easiest thing to do after, admittedly, neglecting to structure the work I have done into a living document that is not only an accurate reflection of the work i have done/am capable of but also packaged in a coherent, easy on the eyes way. As such I am thinking perhaps having a legit http on the internets will serve as a good way to introduce & showcase, in a somewhat organized manner, the work I have done so far while sorting out the aforementioned proper polished portfolio.

Secondly, though I wasn't that keen on paying to secure & maintain this plot of internet land, the turnkey solutions of the behances, coroflots, and the like didn't seem quite right for me at this point in time. Having to curate/maintain/updates a personal website always seemed more hassle than a benefit, but given all the different social media spots I have killed time on in recent years, it now doesn't feel like as big a hurdle...also in some ways this feel like a good time to 'adult' and carve out a space for my professional endeavors with most of that time.

Lastly being laid off & out of work for more than 6 months now, there is a little anxiety to taking this next step, but it must be done. Now that the summer is here looking forward to making this roadtrip west and back home, it's just the beginning...
